In the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, more than 600 homes, dozens of social institutions and hospitals were left without heating due to damage to the heating main caused by a missile strike by the Russian army. The scale of the problem was confirmed by the mayor of the capital, Vitaliy Klitschko.
- The following remained without heating:
- 630 residential buildings;
- 16 hospitals;
- 17 schools;
- 13 kindergartens.
City services immediately began working to eliminate the consequences. Kyivteploenergo crews have already begun repair work, but it is not yet known when the heat will be fully restored.
Injured and dead:
- According to Klitschko, there were no fatalities, but seven people were injured, four of whom were hospitalized.
- However, the State Emergency Service (SES) reported one death as a result of the attack.
This attack once again showed the cynicism of the actions of the Russian army, which directs strikes not only at military but also at civilian targets, leaving thousands of people without heat in the winter.
Residents of the area are urged to remain calm and monitor for updates on the restoration of services.
