According to our sources, the family of People's Deputy from the Servant of the People party Gennady Kasai purchased luxury real estate in Dubai for over $1 million during the full-scale war in Ukraine.
According to our data, in 2022-2023, the daughter and nephew of the people's deputy became the owners of four apartments in premium-class residential complexes. The purchase was traced to a leak of data from the United Arab Emirates' government registries, provided in collaboration with the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).
This fact caused indignation, because it was during this period that the Kasai family was at the center of a scandal with the supply of jackets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at inflated prices, while the quality of the supplied products was also questionable. Despite this, the people's deputy himself denies his involvement in defense purchases, and calls his relatives "adults" who independently make decisions about their expenses. However, he did not explain the origin of the funds for expensive real estate.
Polina Kasai, the daughter of the People's Deputy, avoids explaining the origin of the funds, as does the deputy's nephew Oleksandr Kasai.
This investigation adds to a series of scandals related to the spending of public funds during the war, and may raise serious questions about the transparency and accountability of representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.
