Russian troops captured the northern part of the city of Hirnyk, located northeast of Kurakhovo in the Donetsk region. This operation is part of active hostilities in the east of Ukraine, where intense clashes continue between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Russian occupation forces.
This was reported by Ukrainian military officer Bohdan Miroshnikov.
According to him, the Russians are advancing directly to Hirnyka, capturing the entire northern part.
The fighting is now in the center, about 40% of the city area remains under the control of the Armed Forces, adds Miroshnikov.
He also reports that on the eastern bank of the Vovcha River, a maximum of 1.5 km wide and 1 km deep remained from the entire bridgehead of the Armed Forces.
This is essentially the last village there - Oleksandropil, battles are already going on for it, the military officer clarified.
He also confirms the actual loss of Zoryanyi, which was attacked by the Russians the day before. According to his assessment, now the situation of Kurakhivka (a settlement south of Hirnyk) will be extremely difficult.
Earlier we wrote that over the weekend the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of two cities of the Donetsk region – Selydovo and Hirnyk – significantly worsened.
