Today, September 27, the Russian occupation army carried out a large-scale drone attack on the Odessa region, which led to tragic consequences. As reported by the head of the Odessa regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, three people died as a result of the terrorist attack, including two women born in 1934 and 1955, and a 73-year-old man. Another 11 people were injured, including a child.
Attack on Izmail
Early in the morning, Russian drones attacked the southern regions of the region, including the city of Izmail. According to Kiper, air defense forces operated in conditions of prolonged and intense combat. Despite the efforts, the drones hit the residential sector, damaging private and apartment buildings, outbuildings, and cars. The attack resulted in several fires, which were quickly extinguished by rescuers. Law enforcement officers are currently documenting the consequences of the terrorist act.
“People are provided with all the necessary assistance,” assured the head of the Odessa OVA.
General situation
The attacks on the Odessa region are not the only blows that Ukraine has suffered in recent days. On September 26, Russian forces launched missile and drone strikes on a number of regions. In particular, in Ivano-Frankivsk, a critical infrastructure facility was damaged, which led to a power outage in part of the city. A 62-year-old woman died in a missile strike in the Odessa region. In Mykolaiv region, an energy infrastructure facility was damaged as a result of shelling, and in Zaporizhia, air strikes injured eight people, including a child. Shelling was also recorded in the Kyiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions.
