The village of Georgievka in the Donetsk region has been captured by Russian troops, BILD analyst Julian Repke reports based on video analysis.
Information about the capture of the village was previously confirmed by Russian military sources, but Ukraine did not confirm this information.
Georgievka is located west of Maryinka and controls the road to Kurakhov, which is an important defense center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region.
To reach Kurakhov, Russian forces still need to capture the village west of Georgievka, Maksimilyanivka. According to Russian sources, fighting for this village is already underway.
Ukrainian military resource DeepState also reports that Russian troops have already entered the village, but Ukrainian forces claim to have repelled the attack.
