Russian troops captured the village of Georgiivka in Donetsk region

The village of Georgiivka in Donetsk region has been captured by Russian troops, BILD analyst Julian Repke reports based on video analysis.

Information about the capture of the village was previously confirmed by Russian military sources, but Ukraine did not confirm this information.

Georgiivka is located west of Maryinka and controls the road to Kurakhovo, which is an important defense center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region.

In order to reach Kurakhov, the Russian troops still need to capture the village to the west of Georgiivka - Maksimilianivka. According to Russian sources, fighting for this village is already underway.

The Ukrainian military resource DeepState also reports that Russian troops have already entered the village, but Ukrainian forces claim to have repelled the attack.
