Russian occupiers continue their offensive in the Donetsk region, occupying the village of Umanske in Pokrovsky district. This direction is the hottest on the front line.
This was reported by the DeepState portal on May 26, publishing an updated map. According to their information, the Russian army also had successes in Ivanovka.
"The enemy occupied Umanske and advanced to Ivanovka," the report says. Russian troops continue their offensive, seeking to capture as much of Ukraine as possible. Since the beginning of 2024, Russia has captured almost 100 sq. km more than in the last three months of 2023. The reason is the lack of weapons in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In April alone, about six villages in the Donetsk direction came under Russian control. Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said that Russia's advances in Ocheretyne left the Russian command with a choice: continue the offensive westward toward Pokrovsk or advance northward toward Chasovye Yar.
Also during the offensive in the Kharkiv region, the Russians captured more than ten villages. Military columnist for the German publication Bild, Julian Ripke, claims that in early May, the enemy attacked positions of the Defense Forces in two places in the north of the region.
In general, experts note that the Russian Federation captured more territory during the spring offensive than Ukraine liberated during the 2023 counteroffensive. ISW predicted how far the Russian Federation's offensive will advance in the summer and when to expect a counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
