In a series of unfortunate events related to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Russian troops have completely captured six border villages in the Kharkiv region. Specifically, the villages of Strelechchia, Pylnye, Krasne, Borysivka, Ogurtsove, and Pletenivka were captured.
They have also already entered several other villages and are trying to gain a foothold, reaching, among other places, the outskirts of Vovchansk.
This is reported by the Ukrainian military publication Deep State, which publishes an updated map of hostilities in the north of the region.
The Telegram channel indicates two directions of the Russian offensive. The first is on Lipka. In this area, Russian troops are entrenched in the villages of Morokhovets, Oliynikovo, Lukyantsi, and Zelene.
“Fights are ongoing for Glyboke, which is the last settlement before the main task in that area for the Russians – to occupy Lyptsy,” the public writes.
The second direction is towards Vovchansk. In this direction, Pletenivka and Ogurtsove have been captured, and attempts are underway to gain a foothold in the villages of Hatishche, Starytsia, and Bugrovatka.
Russian troops have also approached the northern outskirts of Vovchansk and are trying to gain a foothold there.
“The situation continues to get more complicated. The enemy is gradually bringing more and more forces into our territory, infantry is continuously entering, advancing in groups into settlements and trying to gain a foothold there, get fed up and continue moving. A small amount of equipment, artillery, aviation are working in support, and there is also a lot of UAV and electronic warfare activity. The defense forces are trying to stop the enemy, inflicting defeats,” the public writes.
Deep State points out that if communication between units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not established, the Russian Federation “will have even greater success, which will lead to very negative consequences.”.
At the same time, the loss of villages was not officially confirmed.
According to the General Staff, in the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops carried out 12 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Strelech, Krasne, Morokhovets, Oliynykovo, Lukyantsi, Hatishche, Pletenivka, Pylna, Vovchansk, and Bugrovatka.
It should be noted that the General Staff report does not indicate that these attacks were repulsed (as was indicated for other areas of the front).
