An employee of a security company from the Kherson Region was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for cooperation with the Russian FSB. The court found him guilty of treason under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
This man came to the attention of the FSB back in the 2000s, when he worked as a taxi driver in Moscow. In the summer of 2023, SBU employees arrested him "red-handed" when he was gathering intelligence about the deployment of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the liberated part of the Kherson region.
The agent received instructions from an operational employee of the occupying "UFSB of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Krym". Through Telegram, he transmitted data on the location of the Ukrainian military, including possible firing positions of artillery and MLRS, in particular, Western M777 howitzers.
The FSB also required an agent to personally arrive in areas of potential targets to adjust fire in real time.
The traitor used an anonymous chat in the messenger, but this did not help to avoid exposure. The Security Service of Ukraine recorded his espionage activities and provided indisputable evidence to the court.
On the basis of SBU materials, the court found the man guilty of treason committed during martial law. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
This case became another reminder that anyone who works for the enemy will be held accountable under Ukrainian law.
