The Russian authorities have officially confirmed that negotiations with the United States of America. The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov stated that negotiations are taking place on the line of foreign policy agencies. However, according to him, the details of these contacts make no sense.
"In Russia and the US, there are some contacts along the lines of foreign policy agencies, there is no point in disclosing details, but the process is ongoing," Ryabkov said, emphasizing that these negotiations are happening, but added that there will be no specific information yet.
At the same time, he denied information about possible personal contacts of Russian President Vladimir Putin and former US President Donald Trump, saying that there are no such contacts.
Ryabkov's statement was response to Trump's statement, which was regarded as confirmation of the negotiation process. Trump, known for his extraordinary statements, spoke in a style that cited the media that negotiations between the two states were really ongoing. However, there were no details in his statements.
These news emerged on the background of increasing international tension, and although officially Russia and the United States are establishing diplomatic channels, the exact goal of these contacts remains unknown. The question remains whether these negotiations can lead to real changes in international politics, in particular the war in Ukraine.
