The Ministry of Defense wants to limit satellite photography over Ukraine due to the shelling of the Russian Federation.
This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Kateryna Chornogorenko.
"Russia probably buys through third countries satellite images for strikes on the territory of Ukraine," she said.
Since the beginning of the war, more than a hundred "coincidences" have already been recorded, when a satellite took off to take pictures of a specific territory, and after a few days or weeks, this place was bombarded by Russia. After that, the satellite again headed to the place to record the scale of the shelling.
Such cases may be evidence that Russia buys satellite images of objects on the territory of Ukraine through intermediary companies.
"Almost every day, Russia carries out strikes on the territory of Ukraine. "Russia uses satellite data to search for targets and to check the results of strikes," Chornogorenko said.
She added that the Ministry of Defense is working on international regulatory mechanisms and will propose concrete steps to counter the use of space intelligence in the war against Ukraine.
It will be recalled that yesterday the American mass media reported that Russia could launch missile strikes on Ukraine using American satellite images.
