Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said that the Russian troops managed to achieve certain successes in the advance to Vugledar thanks to the use of counter-battery artillery combat (KAB). This indicates the escalation of the conflict and new challenges for Ukrainian forces.
"Earlier, this city was easy to defend, it is at a height. But with the active arrival of the KAB to the front, the enemy managed to destroy it and move to the flank. Unfortunately, KAB and aviation are the only things that allow enemy infantry to move," Kovalenko writes.
