Russians may begin assaults in Zaporizhia region in the coming days

Russian troops may begin new actions in the Zaporizhia region in the coming days, said Vladislav Voloshyn, the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, in an interview with Sky News , warning of a possible escalation of hostilities in the southern direction.

According to Voloshyn, the attacks could create a new pressure point for the Ukrainian military, which is already retreating in the east, although it is not yet clear whether this will be one large-scale Russian offensive or separate assaults.

"The assaults could begin in the near future, we're not even talking about weeks, we expect it to happen any day now," the spokesman said.

He added that Russian troops in the area significantly outnumber Ukrainian troops.

Earlier, it was reported about the Russian offensive in the direction of Hulyaipol, Zaporizhia region.
