Russian troops broke through the main defense lines east of Pokrovsk. Military analyst of the German newspaper Bild, Julian Röpke, reported the corresponding data.
According to Ryopke, after quickly capturing two villages in the east, Russian troops continued their offensive, entering Novogrodivka and advancing through the territory of the former town with a population of 14,000 in Donetsk region. This is evidence that there is no longer a fortified Ukrainian line of defense east of Pokrovsk.
"Just a few days after the capture of two villages in the east, Russian troops entered Novogrodivka and are advancing through the territory of the former town with a population of 14,000 people in the Donetsk region. Another sign that there is no longer a fortified Ukrainian line of defense east of Pokrovsk," the journalist wrote on the X social network.
He also noted that now the Russians don't need to destroy cities before storming them, because the Armed Forces are undermanned.
"Russia no longer needs to destroy cities before storming them with its troops. The defense is simply too weak for that. Due to the speed of your own advance, you can no longer do this," Röpke said, giving an example of a video of a battle with a Ukrainian tank in an unspecified settlement.
