While the country lives in war conditions, some officials seem to not lose the opportunity to buy "elite" for pennies. The head of the customs post of Odessa Customs Dmitry Borovyk recently declared the purchase of a Volvo XC90 car (2024) - and indicated only $ 15,000 for him.
While the real market value of such a car is over $ 65,000, even in the case of buying a damaged car from the US (Bitka), the price is rarely lower than $ 25,000. And this is without taking into account customs clearance, delivery and recovery.
Customs Declaration raises a number of questions:
-
Did the car really cost as much as he pointed out?
-
Isn't the cost of deliberately deliberate to avoid the origin of funds?
-
And most importantly - what does this demonstration of "accessible luxury" look like against the background of daily losses of the state?
Dmitry Borovyk is not a beginner in the customs system. Namely, the customs sphere is traditionally under the particular attention of anti -corruption bodies, as it often becomes a source of illegal profits. Therefore, the story with a suspiciously cheap Volvo is likely to be a subject of interest for NAPC, NABU or investigative journalists.
