The investigation into the acquisition of land near Kyiv, which has an area of more than 1,200 hectares, was completed by the joint work of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. According to the investigation, these actions led to losses for the state in the amount of more than 1.8 billion hryvnias.
The completion of the investigation was announced on the NABU's official website. According to the results of the research, it was established that in 2018-2019, the organizer of the crime, using the influence on the officials of the Main Department of the State Geocadastre in the Kyiv region and having connections with high-ranking officials in various spheres, developed a scheme for acquiring agricultural land. These plots were in permanent use by state-owned enterprises in the territory of the Kyiv region.
The participants of the scheme, which included former officials of the State Geocadastre and other persons, appropriated more than 1,200 hectares of land, including almost 920 hectares in Fastov and about 284 hectares on the outskirts of Kyiv. The total market value of these plots at the time of the crime was more than 1.8 billion hryvnias.
On August 15, 2023, the participants of the scheme were charged under Articles 191 and 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, the number of suspects in this criminal proceeding has increased to 12 people.
The law enforcement officers also reported that all plots of land have been seized and a ban has been imposed on construction and change of purpose, keeping these lands for the Kyiv region community. The organizer of the scheme is also suspected of taking possession of 2.24 hectares of forest on the shore of the Kyiv Sea.
