On the night of September 22, Russia again launched massive strikes on Ukrainian regions. The attack resulted in destruction of infrastructure, fires, and civilian casualties.
Zaporizhzhia suffered the greatest losses. According to the head of the Zaporizhzhia OVA Ivan Fedorov, at least five guided bombs were dropped on the city in the morning. Civil infrastructure and industrial facilities were damaged, fires were burning in the city. Initially, two people were reported dead and two injured, one of them in serious condition. Later, it became known that the number of victims had increased to three: rescuers retrieved the body of a 75-year-old woman from under the rubble of a private house.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to the head of the OVA Serhiy Lysak, the Nikopol district and the communities of the Sinelnyky region were under fire. The enemy struck with heavy artillery and FPV drones. Private houses and outbuildings were damaged in Marhanets, Myrivska and Pokrovska communities. A five-story building and several houses were destroyed in Nikopol. After midnight, drones hit the Pokrovska community: six cars were destroyed, three more were damaged, a summer kitchen, a garage and a private house burned down. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
Sumy was also hit by drones. As reported by the acting mayor Artem Kobzar, two drones hit industrial facilities, and another one hit an educational institution. Windows were broken in nearby buildings, balconies were damaged. A security guard at the enterprise was injured when one of the drones hit him.
In the Kyiv region, according to the head of the OVA Mykola Kalashnyk, the consequences of the drone attack were recorded in four districts. In the Vyshgorod district, forest litter was burning, in the Fastiv district - a private house. In the Obukhiv district, debris from a downed enemy target fell on an uninhabited multi-story building, and in the Boryspil district, a fire damaged transport and housing. One victim is known - a man born in 1993, who received a shrapnel wound to the shoulder.
Rescuers and emergency services are working in a number of regions due to enemy strikes.
