The Russian armed forces are actively concentrating troops in three key areas near the border with Ukraine, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports, based on intelligence and surveillance data.
In the Belgorod region in the area of Grayvoron-Borysivka-Proletarsky. From here, the offensive can develop towards Zolochiv and Bogodukhov northwest of Kharkiv or west towards settlements along the R-45 highway connecting Bogodukhov and Sumy. Or in both directions.
And also "limited forces" are concentrated in the Kursk and Bryansk regions near the border with the Sumy region.
ISW assumes that in this way the Russian Federation continues to stretch Ukrainian forces, and offensive operations in the Sumy-Kharkiv direction will be limited in nature at least until the northern group of Russian troops reaches the planned size (yesterday the Institute wrote about 50-70 thousand).
However, even in this case, the forces to surround or capture Kharkiv or Sumy will not be enough.
