Russian troops are actively accumulating manpower and equipment in remote positions in the Donetsk region, preparing for a large-scale assault. This was reported by the head of intelligence of the anti-aircraft missile and artillery division of the Rubizh brigade, Danylo Borysenko, on the air of the Kyiv24 channel. According to him, the enemy is currently using small group tactics, trying to gain a foothold on the approaches to Ukrainian positions.
"We all expect a massive assault, but so far this is a tactic of small groups. They are trying to infiltrate the landings and establish themselves in small groups of 2 to 5 people," Borisenko noted.
Against the backdrop of enemy tactical maneuvers, FPV drones play an important role in deterring attacks, which the Ukrainian military uses to destroy the enemy on the approaches to forward positions. This significantly reduces the risks for the Ukrainian infantry and ensures better protection of the front.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, active resistance to Russian forces continues in the Kurakhiv direction. Over the past 24 hours, 47 combat clashes have taken place here. The most intense enemy attempts to advance are observed near the settlements of Ilyinka, Novoselidivka, Voznesenka, Novodmytrivka, Dalne and Antonivka. Despite the increased pressure, the Ukrainian defenders are holding their defenses firmly and stopping the enemy's advance.
In addition to the fighting, the situation in the region is complicated by the actions of the Russian army, which recently destroyed the Ternovskaya dam of the Kurakhiv reservoir. The destruction of this hydraulic structure could lead to problems with water supply and cause additional humanitarian challenges for local residents.
