The Russian army continues to prepare for new attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure. According to Sergey "Flash" Beskrestnov, a specialist in electronic warfare and communications systems, enemy reconnaissance drones have begun actively studying energy facilities far beyond the frontline zones.
According to him, an analysis of drone flight routes shows that the enemy is currently particularly interested in the state of protection of the Ukrainian energy sector.
" I can say that they are now interested in energy facilities and the state of their protection. Substations, transformers, electricity and gas infrastructure ," the expert noted.
The probable preparatory actions are accompanied by real attacks. On the night of August 27 alone, Russia struck energy and gas transportation facilities in six regions of Ukraine - Sumy, Poltava, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia.
Kyiv is preparing for possible new waves of strikes. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at the latest meeting of the General Staff, instructed to accelerate the procurement of short- and medium-range air defense systems. A decision was also made to strengthen the security of energy networks and substations in front-line and border communities.
Thus, Russia's intelligence and attacks once again confirm its targeting of energy infrastructure as part of a strategy of terror against civilians.
