Russian troops are trying to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv direction every day, increasing the intensity of attacks in the hope of achieving a result in 50 days — this is the conditional deadline the Kremlin supposedly received from US President Donald Trump to start peace talks. Mykola Volokhov, commander of the TERRA unit within the 3rd Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told the KYIV24 TV channel.
“ The attacks are happening practically every day. Our record is more than 20 attacks in a sector. We hold about 60 km of the front — this is one of the largest areas held by one unit ,” Volokhov noted.
According to him, the enemy is conducting continuous assaults in small groups, trying to "probe" the defense and find a weak spot for a breakthrough. Volokhov links the enemy's activation to a political factor - the Kremlin seeks to achieve success by the conditional deadline, after which negotiations can begin.
“ They want to accumulate strength, find a hole in the front and exploit it. Right now, the Russians are trying to maximize their potential — up to the 50 days that our allies are talking about ,” the TERRA commander noted.
Despite the intense pressure, the Ukrainian defenders are holding the line. In particular, the 3rd Army Corps is effectively restraining the enemy's offensive actions in the Kharkiv region and blocking breakthrough attempts.
