The morning of November 21, 2024 for the Dnipro began with a large-scale missile attack by Russian troops. In the period from 05:00 to 07:00, the aggressor used ballistic and cruise missiles, striking the city's critical infrastructure and enterprises. Thanks to the work of the Ukrainian Air Force, six Kh-101 cruise missiles were destroyed, and other attacks passed without significant consequences.
Details of the attack
According to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the enemy used various types of weapons:
- An intercontinental ballistic missile launched from the Astrakhan region.
- Aeroballistic missile Kh-47M2 "Kinjal" launched from a MiG-31K fighter from the Tambov region.
- Seven Kh-101 cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers over the Volgograd region.
Units of anti-aircraft missile forces destroyed most of the threat, demonstrating a high level of protection of the sky over Ukraine.
Absence of casualties and important appeals
Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or injuries yet. Despite this, the Air Force once again emphasized the importance of immediate response to air distress signals.
Ukrainians were also urged to take a responsible approach to the dissemination of information related to the combat work of the Armed Forces. This is an important element of information security of the state.
This attack is another attempt by Russia to intimidate Ukrainians and damage critical infrastructure as winter approaches. While Ukraine demonstrates incredible resilience, the support of the international community and the strengthening of air defense systems remain key to protecting civilians.
