Russia is massively attacking Ukraine's energy system

On the night of Friday, October 3, Russian forces launched a new wave of combined attacks on Ukraine, the main goal of which was to damage key energy system facilities, monitoring sources and media reported.

The most intense attacks were concentrated in Poltava, Odessa, Sumy, Kyiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In particular, Poltava, Hadyach, and Lubny in the Poltava region, as well as certain areas of Kharkiv and Odessa, came under massive attack.

According to the Telegram channel monitor, the enemy used Shahed strike drones, about six Iskander-M 9M723 ballistic missiles in the Lubny/Lokhvytsia sector and separate communities of the Kharkiv region, as well as 15 Kh-59/69 and 9M727-729 cruise missiles in Poltava, Lubny, and the Kharkiv region.

Monitoring emphasizes that the attack was combined: ballistics, cruise missiles and drones were used simultaneously. This significantly complicates the task of the Defense Forces due to the different speed, principle of action and number of attack means. Previously, energy infrastructure facilities were also attacked.

It is also noted that the enemy used only ground-based systems and guided aircraft missiles, not using sea-based and air-based cruise missiles. According to analysts, longer-range missiles, such as Caliber and Kh-101, remain for strikes on central and western regions of Ukraine.

Residents are reporting explosions in other regions of the country, indicating the scale and synchronism of the attacks by Russian troops.
