President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a statement during the Crimean Platform Parliamentary Summit, emphasizing Ukraine's key role in achieving a just peace. Speaking about the Victory Plan , presented by Ukraine to its international partners, he noted that its full implementation would lead to Russia's presence at the Peace Summit. According to him, this will be possible only after Russia has no other options left except for peace based on international law.
The peace formula and the role of the UN
Zelensky emphasized that the Victory Plan ensures the implementation of the Peace Formula and restores the effectiveness of the principles of the UN Charter. In the context of the International UN Day, he emphasized that today an important role in protecting global security is played not so much by UN bodies as by international formats of cooperation, in particular the Crimean Platform and the upcoming Peace Summit .
The President made a subtle hint at the need for more active participation of international bureaucracy and political leaders in this process, emphasizing that UN Day is a global holiday, not an event for individual regions, particularly in Russia.
Support for the United States
The United States supports Ukraine's initiatives to achieve a just peace. White House National Security Spokesperson John Kirby noted that the United States is carefully reviewing the details of the Victory Plan and fully supports Ukraine's position. He also emphasized that any negotiations or discussions regarding Ukraine will not take place without Kyiv's participation.
Victory Plan: What is important?
Mykhailo Podolyak , advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that the Victory Plan is focused on Ukraine's Western partners. The main emphasis of the plan is on their budgets, investments and military capabilities. However, he also pointed out the importance of stimulating Ukraine's domestic economy. The plan provides for the effective work of law enforcement agencies and the organization of the economy during wartime.
