A security company employee from the Kherson region has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for collaborating with the Russian FSB. The court found him guilty of high treason under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

This man came to the attention of the FSB back in the 2000s, when he worked as a taxi driver in Moscow. In the summer of 2023, SBU officers detained him “red-handed” while he was collecting intelligence on the deployment of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the liberated part of the Kherson region.
The agent received instructions from an operational officer of the occupation “UFSB of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea.” Via Telegram, he transmitted data on the location of Ukrainian military personnel, including possible firing positions of artillery and MLRS, in particular Western M777 howitzers.
The FSB also required that the agent personally arrive in the areas of potential targets to adjust fire in real time.
The traitor used an anonymous chat in the messenger, but this did not help to avoid exposure. The Security Service of Ukraine recorded his espionage activities and provided irrefutable evidence to the court.
Based on materials from the SBU, the court found the man guilty of high treason committed during martial law. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
This case became another reminder that anyone who works for the enemy will be held accountable under Ukrainian law.
