The Security Service of Ukraine has detained two FSB agents who were collecting coordinates for future missile and drone attacks in the Kyiv and Rivne regions. The targets were combat units, military hospitals, and places where wounded Ukrainian defenders were being treated.
According to the SBU, the detentions took place simultaneously in two regions - Kyiv and Rivne. Both suspects were caught while attempting to photograph military facilities. One of the agents is a 24-year-old handyman from Kyiv, the other is a 32-year-old deserter who was hiding in the west of the country.
Both worked autonomously, without knowing about each other, but had a common coordinator — an employee of the occupation “FSB Department for Crimea and Sevastopol,” whose identity had already been established by SBU cyber specialists.
The agents' goal was to collect the exact coordinates of the Third Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military hospitals, and locations of Ukrainian units. According to the curator's instructions, the attackers resorted to conspiracy - they filmed military facilities under the guise of telephone conversations, using two separate phones: one to record locations, the second to communicate with the FSB via anonymous messengers.
Thanks to early detection, the SBU conducted counterintelligence measures and took measures to secure all facilities that could be under threat.
Both spies have been charged with treason under martial law. They are currently in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The SBU continues to document the actions of the FSB curator and checks whether the coordinates of other sensitive objects were transferred.
