The Security Service of Ukraine reported the exposure and detention of a traitor in one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As it turned out, the serviceman worked for Russian military intelligence and passed on important information to the occupiers about the location of Defense Forces units in the Kupyansk direction.

According to the investigation, the traitor was recruited by a Russian agent back in January 2025. His supervisor was an officer of the Russian military intelligence operating on the Eastern Front. The serviceman regularly sent the coordinates of Ukrainian combat positions, headquarters, command posts, and firing lines. To communicate with the enemy, he used encrypted communication — sending voice messages through anonymous chats in messengers.
What is particularly dangerous is the fact that the traitor was supposed to leave the territory shortly before the missile and bomb strikes that the Russians were planning based on his coordinates. Fortunately, the SBU military counterintelligence detected his activities in time and prevented a potential disaster on the front line.
The detention took place right near the front line. The SBU documented his contacts with the Russian side, including the methods of transmitting information and the content of the communications.
The traitor is currently under suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - high treason committed under martial law. He faces life imprisonment.
The Security Service of Ukraine emphasizes that the fight against enemy agents continues at all levels, and calls on military personnel to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their units.
