Deputy Commander of the Third Assault Brigade Maksym Zhorin believes that the shelling of Ukrainian civilian objects by the Russian occupiers is part of a well-thought-out terror strategy. In his Telegram channel, the military officer emphasized that these attacks are not random responses to military actions, but are deliberately aimed at intimidating the civilian population and creating social tension.
Zhorin notes that such actions by Russian troops are a deliberate attempt to sow fear and anxiety among Ukrainians, and not random acts of aggression. “This is not as a response to something, but as targeted terror,” he writes. According to him, this approach will continue as long as the Russian Federation exists, and Ukrainians must understand that any attempts at reconciliation with such an enemy are futile.
Maksym Zhorin is also critical of the illusions that international meetings or peace agreements can bring real peace. He emphasizes that such approaches can distract from the need to consolidate, prepare, and strengthen defensive positions. “It may be nice to think that international meetings will bring peace, but it is harmful because it distracts from the main thing — the need to consolidate and become stronger,” the military officer added.
