Jake Sullivan, the national security adviser to the US president, emphasized that Ukraine needs to carry out certain reforms and "meet security conditions" in order to receive an invitation to NATO. This statement became an important topic of discussion in the context of Ukraine's efforts to integrate into Euro-Atlantic structures.
"The main idea was what the president laid out at the Washington Summit this summer, namely in the communiqué, which stated that Ukraine's place, Ukraine's future, is in NATO. There is work to be done to get from where we are now to where we are, including reforms and security compliance," Sullivan said.
He did not specify what "security conditions" were in question.
We will remind you that Zelensky insists on inviting Ukraine to NATO even before the end of the war.
