Samsung has announced that its new folding smartphone with three screens will be released in the second half of 2025. This device will be a direct competitor to the Huawei Mate XT, which has recently attracted a lot of attention in the world of mobile technology.
Samsung is reportedly set to shake up its lineup of foldable smartphones. Numerous reports indicate that the company is preparing for the release of the rival Huawei Mate XT, its first Galaxy foldable with three screens.
Previously, it was expected that Samsung would release a similar phone next year, but according to authoritative insider Ross Young, the manufacturer will not be in a hurry to release the "tri-folder", so its release should be expected at the beginning of 2026 at best.
According to sources, the "trifold" Samsung will receive two hinges that fold inward. Today, the only similar device – the Huawei Mate XT – is built according to the principle of an accordion, when one hinge bends outward, and the other inward.
Samsung already has four new foldable Galaxy phones planned for 2025. In addition to Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, the manufacturer has planned to release Z Flip 7 FE (more affordable) and Z Fold 7 SE (more expensive), which will most likely appear in the fall.
Samsung will simplify complex smartphones in an attempt to regain lost market positions. Analysts say that the Korean brand cannot successfully compete in the foldable device market, which it has created, due to Chinese counterparts that offer advanced technology, modern design and an affordable price tag.
Rumor has it that Xiaomi and Honor are also preparing their first triple “folder”. Analysts predict the growth of the folding device market by approximately 30% in 2026. The launch of the first foldable iPhone will also contribute to this.
Earlier, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, expected by many, was shown on video. A recent leak confirms that for the first time in several years, Samsung's flagship smartphone comes with an updated design.
