The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has filed a request with the court for the special confiscation of the assets of the former head of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine , Oleh Yashchuk . The lawsuit was filed with the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court on the basis of materials submitted by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention .
These are two cars that, according to the prosecution, have signs of unfounded assets: a 2023 BMW X3 (registration number KA5800PC) and a 2023 Toyota Camry (registration number AA9837PA). Both vehicles were registered not to Yashchuk himself, but to other persons.
The BMW X3 is registered to Bohdana Zubets , the sister of Yashchuk's wife, who works as a teacher. According to the investigation, in order to complicate the identification of the car, the license plates were changed to W07070A, which belong to another vehicle. Such actions are considered a potential obstacle to establishing the actual owner.
The Toyota Camry is registered to Anatoliy Slepenchuk , a close acquaintance of Yashchuk. Law enforcement agencies are also investigating the origin of about $30,000 in funds linked to this person, as there is currently no explanation for their origin.
In addition to the cars, the investigation includes information about real estate that may be owned or used by Yashchuk in Dubai and Vienna. This data is also being analyzed in the context of a possible asset concealment.
The total value of the two cars that became the subject of the lawsuit to the Supreme Court of Justice is estimated at almost 4 million hryvnias. The lawsuit concerns only vehicles, the issue of other assets is being considered separately. In parallel, investigative actions are being conducted against Yashchuk.
The court decision on special confiscation has not yet been made. If the origin of the assets is proven to be unfounded, they may be confiscated into state revenue in accordance with current legislation.
