The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to declare the assets of the head of a department of one of the district state administrations of Kyiv and her mother unfounded and to confiscate them as state revenue. The total value of the assets is over UAH 7.8 million.
According to the NACP, in 2020–2025, the official received and disposed of UAH 3.185 million from her bank account. According to the Law "On Prevention of Corruption", these funds cannot be considered acquired at the expense of legitimate income.
In addition, during this period, the official's mother became the owner of an apartment in a business-class residential complex near the center of Kyiv. Its cost is UAH 4.65 million. An analysis of the family's income showed that they had no legal grounds for purchasing such real estate.
The SAPO is asking the court to apply civil confiscation and seize the assets into the ownership of the state. The VAKS has already seized the apartment and other property belonging to the official.
This case demonstrates that anti-corruption authorities are increasingly using the civil confiscation mechanism to return illegally acquired property to the state.
