The Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court to recover the state income of almost 20 million hryvnias, which, according to the investigation, was illegally acquired by the deputy of the Kyiv City Council Igor Galaychuk and his wife.
About it reports the Center for Combating Corruption.
In 2021–2022, the Galaychuk spouses, according to the prosecutor's office, acquired seven land plots near Kiev and built two residential buildings on them. The total cost of this real estate is UAH 9.7 million.
The family sold part of the objects - two houses and two land, having received a profit of UAH 10 million. However, as stated in the claim, the official income of the family did not allow such investments - no lawful sources for such expenses were detected.
"The prosecutor concluded that the assets were acquired without legal grounds, so he filed a lawsuit for confiscation of state income," the SAP noted.
The panel of judges of the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court (VAKS) has already decided on the arrest of the Galaychuk family property - this is necessary to ensure a future decision on the claim.
The case is ongoing.
Igor Galaychuk is a deputy of the Kyiv City Council from the Batkivshchyna faction. In the declarations in previous years, he indicated the presence of several real estate. However, according to anti -corruption bodies, the origin of funds for these objects is not documented.
In case of satisfaction of the claim, property and profit from its sale can be collected in revenue of the state.
