The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) initiated the process of confiscating the assets of the former acting head of the State Tax Service Department in Sumy region, Artem Sniezhko, who previously headed the department for combating money laundering.
The SAPO discovered a number of assets belonging to Sniezhko, which were likely acquired as a result of illicit enrichment. In particular, it concerns a Lexus RX 350 car (2022 model), three apartments and a non-residential premises, the total value of which is over 7 million hryvnias.
Artem Sniezhko, who held senior positions in the State Tax Service in Sumy region, is a person involved in an investigation related to the illegal acquisition of property. According to the prosecutor's office, he purchased a premium car, as well as several real estate objects, including three apartments with a total area of 159.9 sq. m and a non-residential premises of 18.4 sq. m. The estimated cost of this property is UAH 7.03 million.
According to the court decision, this property has been seized to secure a lawsuit aimed at confiscating assets as part of the fight against corruption and illicit enrichment of officials.
The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor's office is actively working on this case, and the seizure of property is only the first step in a long-term process that may lead to confiscation of assets and further legal proceedings. Prosecutors do not rule out that after the investigation is completed, Sniezhko may be held criminally liable for illicit enrichment, which is a violation of Ukrainian law.
