The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to declare the assets of the head of the State Environmental Inspectorate of Donetsk Oblast unfounded. The property is worth over 8 million hryvnias, which can be confiscated as state revenue.
According to the NACP, in the period 2019–2024, the official's wife and his close person purchased a number of expensive cars:
-
Audi A8 (2008 onwards),
-
Toyota Avensis (2013 onwards),
-
Volkswagen Tiguan (2019 and 2024),
-
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150,
-
Audi Q8 (2021 onwards),
-
BMW X5 (2022 onwards).
During the inspection, it turned out that some of the cars were allegedly purchased at low prices - under the pretext of selling previous cars. At the same time, several vehicles were formally registered to a close person of the declarant, who did not even have a driver's license. In reality, the cars were used by the official himself and his wife.
An analysis of the couple's income and expenses showed that they did not have sufficient legal sources for such acquisitions. In particular, in 2021 and 2024, the family did not declare any income at all that could explain the origin of these assets.
If the Supreme Court of Ukraine confirms the conclusions of the NACP, all the aforementioned cars may be confiscated in favor of the state in accordance with Article 290 of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine.
