The warming that has gripped Ukraine in recent days is beginning to come to an end. Forecasters predict that the temperature will drop again this weekend, and the weather will become more wintery. As forecaster Natalka Didenko notes, today in Kyiv the temperature will be +3…+5 degrees, and on January 10, warming to +7 degrees is expected in the capital. However, on January 11-12, the temperature will drop, and a cold wave will cover Ukraine.
Forecaster Ihor Kibalchych adds that weather conditions will change in Ukraine over the weekend. Rain is expected, which will turn into snow in some places, and even blizzards. On Friday, light rain may fall in the western regions, and fog is also possible. The wind will be moderate, with a speed of 5–10 m/s.
On Saturday, the situation will worsen, and in the western regions, rain will change to wet snow, which may lead to icy roads. Similar weather conditions will spread to the northern and central regions of the country. The wind will intensify, and the temperature will drop to -1…+4 °C in the western regions, and to +2…+7 °C in the rest of the territory.
The night from Saturday to Sunday will bring rain with sleet to the southern, central and northern regions, and during the day precipitation is likely mainly in the northeast. Warm weather will remain in Crimea and the Azov Sea, up to +10 °C.
So, in the coming days, Ukrainians can expect winter precipitation and a drop in temperature.
