The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed a 40-year-old resident of the Kharkiv region who, through Russian Telegram channels, spread pro-Russian messages, justified the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, and supported the occupation of the Kharkiv region.
According to the SBU, the detained person was a resident of the village of Kozacha Lopan, who worked as a foreman at the regional branch of Ukrzaliznytsia. After the occupation of his native village by Russian troops, he moved to Kharkiv because his home was destroyed during the fighting.
However, in his publications, the man blamed the destruction on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, justified the actions of the Russian Federation, and openly stated that Kharkiv should be part of Russia.
The Security Service conducted a linguistic examination of the materials posted by the suspect on pro-Russian Telegram channels. The experts' conclusions confirmed the illegal nature of his statements - they are qualified as justification and denial of the Russian Federation's armed aggression against Ukraine.
Based on the collected evidence, the man was informed of suspicion under Part 1, 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces imprisonment.
