The Security Service of Ukraine announced a new suspicion against former People's Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk, accusing him of complicity in the crime related to the privatization of the state oil pipeline "Samara-Western direction" and with a direct hint of complicity in the crime of Petro Poroshenko.
This pipeline was the subject of legal and political disputes after the collapse of the USSR, and now, according to the SBU, Medvedchuk acted in coordination with the top political leadership of Ukraine and Russia.
This is a criminal case regarding the privatization of the state oil pipeline "Samara-Western Direction" in 2015.
The SBU states that Medvedchuk acted "in clear coordination with the top political leadership of Ukraine and Russia at the time."
According to the investigation materials, in 2014-2015 the Court of Appeal and the Higher Economic Court ruled on the right of Ukraine to own the pipeline, which remained in the possession of Russia after the collapse of the USSR.
However, with the support of the top leadership of Ukraine at the time, Medvedchuk managed to overturn this decision through the Rivne Economic Court and formalize the sale of the oil pipeline to a Swiss company, which is actually controlled by the participants of the scheme.
In addition to Medvedchuk, four top managers of Prykarpatzakhidtrans received suspicions. The full circle of persons, including the ex-president of Ukraine, involved in this illegal arrangement, is currently being established.
