The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced suspicion against the former leader of a pro-Kremlin political party who called for the destruction of Ukraine.
According to the SBU, a convincing evidence base was collected regarding the activities of the pro-Russian blogger and former head of the banned Derzhava party, Dmytro Vasilets.
Vasyltsia left for Moscow even before the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, where he publicly expressed support for an aggressive war against Ukraine.
To spread hostile propaganda, Vasyltsia used his channels on YouTube video hosting and Telegram messenger with an audience of over half a million users.
On these platforms, he praised the Putin regime, justified the full-scale invasion of Russia and called for the destruction of the Ukrainian state.
He also actively supported Kremlin policy during mass propaganda events in which representatives of Russia's top military and political leadership participated.
In addition, on the central TV channels of Russia, he personally called for the capture of the Ukrainian government and its entire territory.
On the basis of the collected evidence, SBU investigators declared Vasylts a suspect under Part 3 of Art. 27 and Part 2 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (public calls for violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or for the seizure of state power, as well as distribution of materials calling for such actions).
Since the perpetrator is hiding from justice on the territory of Russia, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring him to justice for crimes against Ukraine.
The investigation is conducted by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office under procedural guidance.
