In Zhytomyr region, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, detained five individuals involved in the illegal trade in weapons taken from the fighting area in the east of the country. As it turned out, two of them were local residents who organized a scheme to sell "trophied" weapons obtained in the Donetsk region.
One of them had already received a suspended sentence for selling weapons, but continued to sell them, in particular to former prisoners.
In Cherkasy region, a 30-year-old deserter “took” weapons from a military unit to sell them.
In Kropyvnytskyi, two deserters wanted to sell 5 grenade launchers, 11 grenades, and other weapons to criminals.
All face up to 7 years in prison.
