In the capital of Ukraine, an official of the Kyivmedspetstrans municipal organization of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) and his accomplices were exposed for illegally embezzling over 6 million hryvnias during the war. These funds were supposed to be spent on purchasing spare parts for ambulances, but ended up in the pockets of corrupt officials.
Scheme details
According to the investigation, the official, together with four accomplices, organized a scheme to embezzle budget funds. Instead of purchasing the necessary parts for ambulances, the funds were withdrawn through shell companies.
This case is particularly resonant because the crime occurred during wartime, when every hryvnia of the budget is critical to meeting the needs of Ukrainians.

As a result of comprehensive measures, law enforcement officers detained five suspects. At the moment, they are accused of embezzling over 6 million hryvnias. Investigative actions are ongoing, during which the details of the crime are being established, as well as possible new episodes of illegal activity.

The scandal has sparked outrage among Kyiv residents, especially given that emergency medical care is one of the most important elements of saving lives during this difficult time for the country. Calls are being made on social media for harsh punishment of the perpetrators and for reform of the procurement control system in municipal structures.
