Employees of the Internal and Own Security Department of the State Border Guard Service are directly involved in the process of smuggling evaders across the borders of Ukraine. This is evidenced by the materials of the SBU criminal proceedings.
In particular, one of the officials of this department was caught red-handed and given a suspect.
This is Lieutenant Colonel Neprelyuk Yu.A. - Head of the Internal Security Group of the Internal and Own Security Department of the 24th Border Detachment of the Main Internal and Own Security Department "South" of the Internal and Own Security Department of the Administration of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
As part of proceedings No. 42024022420000104 dated March 21, 2024, the prosecutor's office and the SBU served him with suspicion on May 24 of this year.
The investigation charges the official with "facilitating and organizing the illegal transfer of a person across the state border of Ukraine, outside the checkpoint, and without any legal grounds.".
Neprelyuk Yu.A. was notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with a request for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention.
Neprelyuk is a trusted subordinate of the head of the Department of Internal and Own Security of the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Volodymyr Mykhailovych Malyuga.
The latter, according to operational materials, actually heads the "top" of the channels for smuggling evaders abroad in various border regions of Ukraine.

In 2020, Malyuga held the position of Deputy Head of the Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region. In 2022, he held the position of Head of the Internal Security Department of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
At the end of 2022, he became a customs officer and worked at the State Migration Service of Ukraine, but was fired in the wake of a corruption scandal.
Currently, heading the Department of Internal and Own Security of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Malyuga is not declared and the data on his appointment to this position are closed. At the same time, during his work in the border service, the relatives of the specified employee became the owners of a significant amount of real estate assets. These circumstances, which indicate the facts of the official's illegal enrichment, are currently being investigated separately by law enforcement officers.
As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada registered a new bill on punishments for persons who evade military service. According to the text of the document, they want to fine draft evaders from UAH 51,000 to 85,000, and also involve them in community service .
