In the Poltava region, an entrepreneur and five of his accomplices have been notified of suspicion of conducting business activities in cooperation with an aggressor state. The Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this.
According to the investigation, the businessman created and controlled several companies engaged in the production and sale of medical and cosmetic equipment. Despite the ban, he organized the illegal supply of products to Russia, in particular to an enterprise headed by a consultant to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
To circumvent sanctions, controlled structures in other countries were used. Officially, the goods were registered as exports to Europe or Central Asia, but in fact they ended up in Russian companies. In 2022–2024, at least seven batches of equipment were sent under this scheme, and financial settlements were made through international banks.
Directors and employees of enterprises involved in manufacturing, contracting, customs clearance, and logistics were involved in the illegal activity. It was established that the equipment was used in Russia, in particular for medical rehabilitation programs for military personnel who participated in the war against Ukraine.
The organizer of the scheme is currently absconding from the investigation and is wanted. The investigation is ongoing under the procedural guidance of the SBU and the prosecutor's office.
