In the capital of Ukraine, an official of the municipal organization "Kyivmedspetstrans" of the Kyiv City State Administration (KMDA) and his accomplices were exposed, who during the war illegally appropriated more than 6 million hryvnias. These funds were supposed to be spent on the purchase of spare parts for ambulances, but they ended up in the pockets of corrupt people.
Scheme details
According to the investigation materials, the official together with four accomplices organized a scheme to embezzle budget funds. Instead of purchasing the necessary parts for the ambulances, the funds were diverted through front companies.
This case takes on a special resonance, since the crime took place in wartime, when every hryvnia of the budget is critical for meeting the needs of Ukrainians.
As a result of comprehensive measures, law enforcement officers detained five suspects. At the moment, they are charged with embezzlement of over 6 million hryvnias. Investigative actions are ongoing, during which the details of the crime are established, as well as possible new episodes of illegal activity.
The scandal caused outrage among Kyivans, especially considering that emergency medical care is one of the most important elements in saving lives in a difficult time for the country. In social networks, there are calls for strict punishment of the guilty and for the reform of the system of control over purchases in communal structures.
