The Security Service of Ukraine exposed another corruption scheme in the capital's authorities. This time, the object of the investigation was the municipal enterprise "Kyivmisksvitlo" , which is responsible for lighting the streets of Kyiv. According to preliminary data, the arrangement caused 40 million hryvnias .
According to the investigation, two companies participated in the corruption scheme:
- "Inteltech Trade" is a company associated with former People's Deputy from the "European Solidarity" party Ihor Kononenko.
- "Express Energy Trade" is the second contractor in the scheme.
The head of "Kyivmisksvitlo" Leonid Samokhvalov , as it turned out, was Kononenko's classmate, which adds to the case a shadow of doubt regarding the transparency of the company's activities.
The essence of the scheme was to overestimate the cost of purchasing equipment and performing work on replacing lighting. Where market prices were significantly lower, the company overpaid many times. According to preliminary information, the difference between the real cost and the declared costs is 40 million hryvnias .
The investigation shows that the abuses took place with the tacit support of the capital's top brass. Although no official has officially signed the documents, insiders indicate their awareness and possible involvement.
The case is considered a particularly serious crime. The conditions of martial law add weight to the qualification: suspects can be tried under the article on looting .
Currently, in Askoldovo Lane , where "Kyivmisksvitlo" is located, they are discussing the possible handing over of suspicions to individual employees.
The corruption scheme in the conditions of war, when every hryvnia of the budget has a special weight, arouses public indignation. Public activists call for severe punishment of the guilty.
