In the Kyiv region, two illegal warehouses were discovered and liquidated, where significant volumes of spare parts for heavy military weapons, in particular for anti-aircraft defense systems (ADF) and artillery, were stored.
Information about this was made public by representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police, who jointly conducted an operation to uncover these warehouses.
We are talking about more than 3,500 components for air defense anti-aircraft missile systems and artillery systems, as well as engines for armored vehicles.
"Within the criminal proceedings under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (appropriation, embezzlement of property or taking possession of it by abuse of official position), an investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the guilty to justice," the SBU said in a statement.
The department recalled that in August 2023, law enforcement officers exposed the same persons involved in an attempt to sell 80 tank engines to the Armed Forces at three times the inflated cost. Perpetrators face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. Comprehensive measures were carried out under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
