The SBU prevented the liquidation of the deputy minister

The law enforcement officers conducted a brilliant operation, preventing the assassination attempt of the First Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine. Two criminals were arrested red-handed while trying to purchase firearms.

How the operation unfolded

Accomplices turned out to be two residents of the Kyiv region, who carefully planned the crime for several months. They studied the official's schedule and routes, conducted shooting practice at a private shooting range, preparing for the attack.

Their plan culminated when the attackers attempted to purchase a gun on the black market. However, during the transfer of funds, they fell into the hands of employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police.

The detainees have already been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 14 and Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (preparation for intentional murder). Currently, the issue of a preventive measure for those involved is being resolved. They face up to 15 years in prison.

Comments of law enforcement officers

The SBU emphasizes that the attackers acted professionally and had a clear plan. Thanks to operative work, it was possible not only to prevent a murder, but also to expose a network of illegal arms trafficking.

If the court finds them guilty, they face serious punishment. This will be a powerful signal to other potential criminals who are planning similar actions.
