The SBU detained the top manager of Energoatom for bribery

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported the arrest of the director of control and audit work of the state enterprise "Energoatom" on suspicion of corruption. According to law enforcement officials, the official demanded and received "kickbacks" from suppliers of goods and services, which caused serious concerns about the integrity and transparency of the work of the state enterprise.

This is stated in the press service of the SBU. We are talking about Oleksandr Skopych, Director of Control and Audit and Compliance at Energoatom.

The criminal proceedings documented that in exchange for a "tribute" of 15 percent of the contract size, he promised suppliers an accelerated settlement for the relevant contract.

The perpetrator was caught red-handed when he received UAH 100,000 from a supplier of fuel and lubricants that supplies the state-owned uranium mining company.

So far, SBU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of influence).

The investigation was carried out by employees of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Kyiv and the Kyiv region under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

A preventive measure was chosen for an official of JSC NAEK "Energoatom" arrested for bribery. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
