The SBU detained a foreign cargo ship and its captain in the water area of Odesa region for working for the Russian Federation

The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) carried out an operation to detain a foreign cargo ship and its captain in the water area of Odesa region, accusing them of working for the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation, the ship under the flag of one of the countries of Central Africa carried out the transportation of grain from the occupied Crimea to the Middle East, for which it repeatedly called at the port of Sevastopol.

To disguise his actions, the captain periodically turned off the ship's GPS tracker and entered inaccurate information into the log of the vessel's routes and stops.

The captain is a citizen of one of the countries of the South Caucasus. He was charged with a charge of up to 5 years in prison. The issue of selecting a preventive measure is being resolved.

The vessel was towed to Odesa region and arrested by a court decision.
