The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the detention of Colonel Andrii Huk, a high-ranking employee of the State Security Department (SDS), on suspicion of treason. This happened as part of an operation aimed at uncovering criminal acts against the national security of Ukraine.
It is officially reported that two UDO colonels have been detained, who, together with three others involved, were preparing an assassination attempt on Zelenskyi, Malyuk, Budanov and other top officials on the instructions of the Russian special services.
"The perpetrators were searched, during which the relevant means of attack were found and seized, as well as other evidence of criminal activity," the SBU says.
For the role of executor, they were looking for military personnel close to the protection of the president, "who could take the head of state hostage and then kill him."
The SBU states that they wanted to kill Budanov before Easter with a rocket attack on the house where he is staying. Use the drones to finish off those who are left, and then use another missile to clean up the remaining tracks. FPV drones, RPG charges and anti-personnel mines for this mission were personally brought by Colonel UDO from another region of Ukraine. The conversations of the potential perpetrator of the terrorist attack with the "curator" from the FSB were recorded.
UDO employees have already been sent to custody.
The detained UDO colonel Andrii Huk was close to the head of the UDO Serhiy Rudy and served as his best man. According to sources, Rud promoted Huk to the position of his deputy.
The arrests took place simultaneously on Saturday.
Colonel Andrii Huk was detained in Koncha-Zaspa, where he has a private house with an area of more than 500 square meters. During the search, they found a weapon that allegedly disappeared in the UDO as early as 02/24/22. They also found evidence of working with the special services of the Russian Federation.
In addition, explosive devices were seized.
The second colonel, Derkach, was detained in the Sumy region, where he went for Easter.
In connection with these events, there may be a question about the resignation of the head of the State Guard Serhiy Rudy, a very close person to whom Andriy Huk was.
Rud brought him into the administration and lobbied for the position of deputy, and also applied for his position to be changed to that of general.
