The Security Service of Ukraine has confirmed the detention of Colonel Andriy Guk, a high-ranking officer of the State Protection Department (SPD), on suspicion of treason. This occurred as part of an operation aimed at uncovering criminal acts against the national security of Ukraine.
Officially, two UDO colonels have been detained, who, together with three other defendants, were preparing an assassination attempt on Zelensky, Malyuk, Budanov, and other top officials on behalf of Russian special services.
“The attackers were searched, during which the relevant means of destruction, as well as other evidence of criminal activity, were discovered and seized,” the SBU states.
For the role of executor, they were looking for military personnel close to the president's security, "who could take the head of state hostage and then kill him.".
The SBU claims that they wanted to kill Budanov before Easter with a missile strike on the house where he is staying. Drones were used to finish off those who remained, and then another missile was used to remove the remaining traces. FPV drones, RPG charges, and anti-personnel mines for this mission were personally brought by Colonel UDO from another region of Ukraine. Conversations between the potential perpetrator of the terrorist attack and the “curator” from the FSB were recorded.
The probation officers have already been sent into custody.
The detained UDO colonel Andriy Huk was close to UDO head Serhiy Rud and was his godfather. According to sources, Rud promoted Huk to the position of his deputy.
The arrests took place simultaneously on Saturday.
Colonel Andriy Guk was detained in Koncha-Zaspa, where he has a private house with an area of over 500 square meters. During the search, weapons were found that allegedly disappeared from the UDO on 02/24/22. Evidence of work with the Russian special services was also found.
In addition, explosive devices were seized.
The second colonel, Derkach, was detained in the Sumy region, where he had gone for Easter.
In connection with these events, the question may arise about the resignation of the head of the State Security Department, Serhiy Rud, a person to whom Andriy Guk was very close.
Rud brought him into the department and lobbied for the position of deputy, and also applied to change his position to general.
