The SBU detained Russian agents in Dnipropetrovsk region

On February 2 in Pavlograd in Dnipropetrovsk, there was a threatening event - an explosion near the building of the territorial centennial center. A homemade explosive device, blown up by malefactors near the military enlistment office, led to a 24-year-old serviceman. However, thanks to the operational work of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police, the terrorist act was opened less than a day, and all persons involved in the crime were detained.

The idea of Russian special services was to make a panic among the local population through this terrorist attack, to support the confidence in the defense forces and to complicate mobilization measures in the region. The attackers who were under the guidance of Russian agents aimed to destabilize the situation in Ukraine, in particular - in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where active mobilization measures continue.

The system that allows the Russian special services to recruit through popular channels in telegrams, allowed criminals to find a "easy" work for three men aged 21 and 22 years. One of them, a resident of Pavlograd, was instructed to make an explosive and hide it near their home. Two other participants, residents of Odesa region, came to the Pavlograd, took away the explosive device, laid it near the shopping center and installed a hidden chamber to fix the results of the explosion. The invaders then remotely activated the device using a call to a mobile phone.

However, the SBU, together with the National Police, quickly launched investigative actions. In less than a day, law enforcement officers were identified by the persons of all those involved in this crime. The malefactors were detained in the Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa regions, where they were hiding in anticipation of rewards from their Russian curators. Instead of promised money, they received a suspicion of a terrorist act, which provides up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The special operation conducted by the SBU with the support of the National Police is a prime example of how Ukraine's operational services are able to quickly neutralize threats, even when it comes to the preparation of terrorist acts aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country. The detained saboteurs who were expecting a financial reward from Russian curators realized that Ukrainian security forces did not leave terrorist intentions without consequences.
